The club lottery in full. If anything here disagrees with something else on the site, this page is the one that counts.

Who runs it

Milford Athletic Football Club, Wildwood Park, Stafford. Registered as a small society lottery with Stafford Borough Council under Schedule 11 Part 5 of the Gambling Act 2005, registration number LL1/2324. The registered promoter is Ian Mellor.

Who can play

You must be 16 or over. We will ask you to confirm that when you join, and a ticket bought by anyone under 16 is void and refunded.

What a ticket costs and what it buys

£1.50 per monthly draw. A full season is twelve draws for £18.00. Join part way through a season and you pay for the draws that are left, not the ones that have gone.

Each ticket carries the name of a football club and that name is yours for the season. Every ticket has exactly the same chance of winning whichever club it carries.

Paying, and renewing

You pay once, by card, for the season. Nothing renews automatically and no card is stored or charged again. When the next season opens we will email you and you decide then whether to play again.

Your club name is reserved the moment your payment goes through, and not before.

The prizes

Half of everything taken in a month is paid back out as prizes that month. The other half stays with the club. Three cash prizes are drawn, and because the pot is a share of what was taken, the prizes rise as more tickets sell. Prizes are always whole pounds.

Five runners-up are drawn before the cash prizes and each wins its member a free entry in the following draw. A free entry costs nobody anything, so it adds nothing to the pot and takes nothing from the club's half.

A club can only win once in a draw. Hold more than one ticket and your clubs can take more than one prize between them.

The draw

Draws are on the last Friday of the month at 7:30pm. Sales close one hour before. If a draw has to be moved we will publish the new date on this site and email everyone who is in it.

Winning and being paid

Winners are announced by club name and never by member name. We contact you on the email address you gave us and the club pays you directly. Keep your email address up to date, because it is the only way we have of reaching you.

Refunds

There are no refunds once a ticket is paid for. You stay in every draw you have paid for until the season ends.

Leaving

You can tell us at any time that you do not want to play again, and we will not email you when the next season opens. It does not take you out of the draws you have already paid for: those run to the end of the season, and your club name is released after the last one.

Behaviour

Everyone running this draw gives their time to the club for nothing. Anyone abusive to them, in person, by phone, by email or online, will have their entry cancelled and will not be allowed to play again.

If something goes wrong

We are not a gambling agency but a football lottery, run by the club for the club. If you think a draw has gone wrong, or a payment has, tell us at treasurer@milfordathletic.com and a human will look at it.
